Join Miraaj Academy in its mission to help young American Muslims study traditional Islam in the United States, all while putting their faith in action. As The Prophet Muhammad (S) Said,
“Do not wish to be like anyone, except in two cases:
Our vision is to foster the next generation of Islamic scholars in the United States and bring young Muslims together, bonded by their faith in Allah, to turn their faith and knowledge of Islam into positive change for individuals, families, and communities. Insha Allah
Through Allah's Mercy, Miraaj Academy established the Yarrow Mamout Scholarship Fund in the fall of 2017 to provide the opportunity for young American Muslims to study traditional Islam in the United States. Donations go to supporting students in the four-year Quran and Leadership program, where students learn and practice:
Only 1% of American Muslims ever attend an Islamic school, and from our experience, it's not because of a lack of will and faith. By donating to the Yarrow Mamout Scholarship Fund, you'll be providing a unique spiritual and educational experience for American Muslims. Over the four-year program, Miraaj Academy students grow in their education of the Quran and what it means to ascend (hence the name of our Academy) from teenagers into responsible young men. And from spiritual actors to religious and community leaders.
Quran 2:238: "And do not forget to do good to one another."
Community service and civic responsibility are two cornerstones of the Miraaj Academy program. It's about putting faith into action, and sending Miraaj students to where they can provide real positive change in the communities that need it most.
One example of this is the Table Spread food pantry, where Miraaj students worked together with the local North Memphis community to open the first client choice food pantry in the area. You can also find Miraaj students serving meals for those in need and delivering meals to food deserts in Memphis.
Students also work in community gardens, participate in community events, and ultimately learn to grow into responsible young men who fulfill a vital role in their communities.
